AI Voice Agent Development
Voice agents that answer, book and follow up on real phone calls
Voice is the hardest channel to automate, and the least forgiving. A chatbot can take two seconds to think and nobody minds. A caller who hears two seconds of silence assumes the line’s gone dead. Honestly, half the work on a voice agent has nothing to do with what it says: it’s latency, handling interruptions, and knowing when to stop talking.
We build for both directions. Inbound: answering, booking, routing, taking messages after hours. Outbound: appointment reminders, chasing up leads, nudging an overdue payment, the occasional short survey. Either way it’s plugged into your calendar, CRM or ticketing system, so a call ends with something actually done, not just a transcript nobody reads.
Before we build anything outbound, we check the consent and calling rules in your market. Automated and AI-voiced calls are tightly regulated in a lot of countries, and recording rules change from one state or country to the next. We’re not lawyers (you’ll want to confirm with yours), but we flag the questions early, not after you’ve had a letter.
What voice agents handle well
Inbound reception
Greets the caller, answers the usual questions, takes a message, and routes anything it can’t handle to the right person.
Appointment booking and reminders
Finds a slot, books it, then calls or texts beforehand to cut the no-shows.
Lead qualification calls
Rings a new enquiry within minutes, while they still care, asks your qualifying questions, and passes the warm ones to sales.
After-hours coverage
Someone picks up at 2 a.m. The genuinely urgent calls get through to the right person; the rest can wait till morning.
Surveys and feedback calls
Short, structured calls with the answers written straight into a spreadsheet or your CRM.
Call summaries to your CRM
Every call logged with a quick summary, the outcome and the next step, so nothing lives only in someone’s memory.
How a voice project runs
-
01
Listen to real calls
We work through recordings of your current calls to learn the questions, the accents, the interruptions and the genuinely strange requests that always turn up.
-
02
Write the call flow and edge cases
What the agent says, what it must never say, and what it does when the caller is angry, confused, or just goes quiet.
-
03
Build and test hard
We call the thing hundreds of times with deliberately awkward scenarios, timing how fast it responds and counting how often it loses the plot.
-
04
Pilot on a share of calls
A portion of real calls first, transcripts reviewed every week, and we widen coverage from there.
Calls we’d leave to a person
- Long, emotional or high-stakes calls: complaints, sensitive health matters, anything legal. Those belong to a person, full stop.
- You get only a few calls a day. A decent answering service will cost you less than building this.
- You want to hide that it’s an AI. A lot of places require you to disclose it, and callers tend to resent finding out after the fact.
Questions people ask us
Will callers know it’s an AI?
The voices sound convincingly human now, but we still recommend saying up front that it’s an automated assistant. Some places legally require it, and either way, callers are far more patient once they know what they’re talking to.
Can it transfer to a human?
Yes. It hands the call to a number or queue you pick, with a short summary attached, so your person isn’t starting the conversation from a blank page.
How fast does it respond?
We aim for the reply to start in roughly a second on a decent connection. The real figure depends on the model, the telephony route and your integrations, so we measure it properly during testing instead of quoting you a brochure number.
Which languages and accents does it handle?
Most major languages, though the quality varies. We test with recordings of your actual callers, because a strong regional accent or a noisy background trips these systems up far more than the language itself.
Is it legal to make outbound AI calls?
Depends on the country, the kind of call, and whether the person has agreed to be contacted. Rules on automated and AI-voiced calls are strict in plenty of markets. We’ll help you design for consent and an easy opt-out, but confirm the legal detail with your own counsel.
What happens when it doesn’t understand?
It asks the caller to repeat or rephrase once or twice, then offers to take a message or put them through to a person. It never traps anyone in an endless loop.
