WhatsApp AI Agent Development
A WhatsApp agent that handles the conversation, not just the greeting
For a lot of businesses, WhatsApp is both where customers already are and where messages quietly go to die. One lands at ten at night, sits unread till morning, and by then the customer has already asked a competitor. An agent on the WhatsApp Business Platform replies the moment the message arrives, gathers what your team actually needs, and hands the chat over to a person the second it’s out of its depth.
We build on the official WhatsApp Business Platform, the Cloud API. That means approved message templates, opt-in handled properly, and a number that won’t get banned for acting like spam. The unofficial QR-code tools are cheaper to stand up and fine for a quick experiment, but we won’t put a client’s main business number anywhere near one.
One thing worth knowing up front: Meta doesn’t allow general-purpose AI assistants on the platform. Bots built for a specific business job (support, orders, bookings, lead handling) are fine, and that’s exactly what we build.
What the agent can do
Customer support
Answers the common questions from your own content, and hands over to your team with the full chat history attached.
Order and delivery updates
Confirmations, dispatch notices and tracking, pulled straight from your store or system.
COD order confirmation
Asks the customer to confirm a cash-on-delivery order before you ship it, which quietly kills a lot of the fake ones.
Lead qualification and booking
Asks the questions your sales team would ask, then drops a call or visit straight into the calendar.
Re-engagement and campaigns
Template messages to customers who’ve opted in, with the replies handled by the very same agent.
Voice notes and images
Transcribes a rambling voice message and reads a photo: a damaged parcel, say, or a payment receipt.
How we set one up
-
01
Read real conversations
We go through a couple of hundred actual chats to learn what customers ask, and how your team answers on its best days.
-
02
Set up the number and templates
Business verification, the WhatsApp number, the display name, and the message templates, all of which Meta has to approve first.
-
03
Build the agent and integrations
The conversation logic, the connections to your systems, and an obvious route to a human when it’s needed.
-
04
Soft launch with someone watching
It goes live on real chats while a team member keeps an eye on them. We tighten the weak spots, then quietly step back.
When we’d say no
- You’re planning to blast out unsolicited bulk messages. WhatsApp will throttle the number, and we won’t build it in the first place.
- You want a ChatGPT-style general assistant living inside WhatsApp. The platform rules simply don’t allow it.
- Your customers mostly don’t use WhatsApp. Check where they actually message you before you spend a penny on this.
Questions people ask us
How much does it cost per message?
That’s WhatsApp’s own pricing, not ours. Meta charges by conversation category and by country, and tweaks the rates now and then. Customer-initiated service chats are the cheapest; marketing templates cost the most. We’ll give you an estimate based on your expected volumes and whatever the current rate card says.
Do we need business verification?
For most real use, yes. Verification lifts your messaging limits and unlocks the full set of features. We’ll walk you through the paperwork and handle the technical side ourselves.
Can customers still reach a human?
Always. The agent hands a chat off to your team inbox or CRM the moment it’s unsure or the customer asks, and your staff see the whole conversation before they reply, so nobody’s starting cold.
Will it work with Shopify or WooCommerce?
Yes. It’ll look up orders, confirm cash-on-delivery ones, send shipping updates and chase abandoned carts, as long as the customer has opted in.
Is it allowed by WhatsApp?
Business bots for support, orders, bookings and lead handling are fine when they’re built on the official platform with proper opt-in. The policies do shift, so we check the current rules at the start of every project rather than assume.
What languages does it support?
Any language the underlying model handles well, including the very common case of a customer flipping between two languages in the same chat. We test with native speakers before it goes live.
